At the Community Foundation, connection is core to all we do. Connecting donors with causes they care about. Connecting people with charitable solutions to maximize giving in tax-wise ways. Connecting the charitable legacy you want to leave in ways that best meet your goals. We strive to provide an approach to giving as unique as you are, because if we asked you why you give, or what drives you to make a difference, each of you would have a unique answer. That answer is what brings our mission to life each day, and it is what has driven Minoo and Rick Spellerberg to honor their late daughter-in-law, Jesse, through the creation of the Jesse J Sanctuary.

The lessons we have learned, the connections we have made, and the momentum we have built continues with donors, community partners, and organizational and community leaders. The work of collaboration on behalf of our community is sometimes hard, it is sometimes winding, but it is always worthwhile. No where is this more evident than the north side of Des Moines and the 6th Avenue Corridor as neighbors are dreaming, planning, building and investing in the future of the place they call home.

Building community doesn’t just happen. It requires intention. It requires space to come together. It requires a bigger table to invite and engage voices that haven’t always been heard. This space and intention is exactly what we seek to achieve as we open the Community Foundation Campus and C3 Center. As we look to the future, we know the Campus and C3 Center will be a place where connection and collaboration take place daily as we work to build community.
