Jul 8, 2024

On July 1, 2024  new federal rules went into effect that raise the amount of money an employee must earn to be exempt from being paid overtime, with an additional increase scheduled for January 2025.

Kellie Gottner from Connectify HR joined us to explain what these new overtime rules mean for local nonprofits, and how to make sure your organization is compliant.

Currently in Iowa, the standard salary level will equal $43,888 annually for exempt employees and $132,964 for highly compensated employees. Effective January 1, 2025, the standard salary level will equal $58,656 annually for exempt employees and $151,164 for highly compensated employees.
