Catholic Charities’ Emergency Family Shelter is the largest and one of only two family shelters in the Des Moines Metro. Unique to a family shelter, we offer temporary housing for family units as we work with them to regain self-sufficiency. The Catholic Charities’ Emergency Family Shelter provides a safe, clean and comfortable environment that encourages families to connect with each other and one another, building community and fostering connections that serve as vital resources once families exit shelter. We provide meals and more to ensure families are well-positioned for future success. Often the biggest barriers to securing permanent housing are deposits or past eviction fees, which your gift can help us fund for families ready to stand on their own feet.
