Project Description

The One Place for Care project will relocate Eyerly Ball community mental health services to a new, 15,000 sq. ft. expanded facility located near Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. This project will allow us to create a centralized hub to serve every person who comes to us in need and will set the tone in Iowa and throughout our region for how we can best serve those in need of mental health services. This new facility will have the ability to house several health services on one campus. This includes counseling, crisis intake and intensive outpatient therapy, a pharmacy and peer-led social space. Features of the project include: - Expanded services of Eyerly Ball will reduce inpatient admissions for some of its most chronically ill clients by 80%. - One consolidated Eyerly Ball facility located in near proximity to the Behavioral Health Urgent Care Clinic and Iowa Lutheran Hospital allowing nearly all of UnityPoint Health – Des Moines’ behavioral health services to exist on the same medical campus. These services will be 500 feet from one another, meaning all mental health services are within 1/10th of a mile door to door. - Full continuum of mental health care where clients will benefit from having multiple locations on one campus eliminating confusion and transportation barriers to care. - New and updated facility, designed specifically as a community mental health center, will provide for an improved client experience and better employee engagement. - Increased collaboration of a comprehensive team to create improved outcomes for clients. The new facility will transform mental health care. By integrating many clinical services under a single roof, we will also be able to expand the size and mix of programs available to ensure every person struggling is seen and heard.
