Project Description
Small business ownership is a pathway to generate income, build wealth, and foster financial freedom. If equitably and properly supported, entrepreneurship offers a significant and sustainable solution to socio-economic disparity. But many entrepreneurs lack access to the education, capital, and professional networks that support generational wealth building.
The Iowa Center delivers three lines of direct service to address these gaps and empower diverse entrepreneurs to launch and grow small businesses: Business Coaching, Credit + Lending, and Tax Services. The Iowa Center is home to the only SBA Women’s Business Center in the State of Iowa, as well as The Iowa Center Loan Fund CDFI. The Iowa Center is certified as an SBA Microlender and also leads the statewide Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Coalition.
All of The Iowa Center's services are available to our clients at low-to-no cost thanks to the generosity of our donors.
