Community Foundation to Celebrate National Nonprofit Day

Nonprofit employees work hard every day to fulfill their organization's mission and serve our community. National Nonprofit Day is celebrated annually August 17, and as a way of saying thanks we invite all nonprofit employees and volunteers to join us for a morning of connection, education and fun at the Community Foundation Campus and C3 Center.

8 - 9 a.m. | Colleague Connect: Executive Directors
Colleague Connect is a series of conversation and networking groups set in a fun, informal and confidential setting. The content of the meeting can include round table discussions, idea sharing or a speaker. Group members and staff commit to creating a confidential space for peer groups to share resources, discuss insights and troubleshoot challenges. There is no cost to participate.
This is a come when you can group designed for Nonprofit Executive Directors, CEOs and Presidents and we ask that in order to maintain the authenticity and confidentiality of the conversation that only nonprofit professionals holding these positions attend. Future Colleague Connect: Executive Directors will be held the third Thursday of each month from 8 - 9 a.m.

10 - 11:30 a.m. | Finance 411: The Basics of Nonprofit Financials
Does your role within the nonprofit involve, impact or support (or detract from) the financial health of the nonprofit organization you serve? Do you need a better understanding of nonprofit finances? Are you looking for ways to communicate the organization’s financial health with your board? Are you not sure how to answer those questions? This session might be just for you.
This training will provide a general overview of the various aspects of nonprofit financial responsibilities in addition to answering how finance and accounting can support organizational strategy. This training will include a high-level overview of budgeting, internal controls, financial reporting for internal and external needs, forecasting and projecting and operating reserves.

The first 50 people to register will receive a lunch ticket eligible for lunch at the Easterseals Sunnyside Express Food Truck following the training.

Take a break and stop by the C3 Center Catalyst Circle Courtyard for lunch and some self-care! We'll have furry friends from the Animal Rescue League, an interactive art project with Momentum, music and the opportunity to purchase lunch from the Easterseals Sunnyside Express food truck.
