The Oak Studio Teen Tech Center, powered by Wellpoint and supported by Best Buy, is a transformative resource for teenagers in Central Iowa, operated under the leadership of Oakridge Neighborhood. As the first and only Best Buy Teen Tech Center in Iowa, Oak Studio serves as a safe, barrier-free environment where teens from across Polk County can access cutting-edge technology training and mentorship. Located in the Mainframe Studio Building in Des Moines, and rooted in Oakridge Neighborhood's longstanding commitment to community empowerment, the center is dedicated to helping young people explore their passions through a variety of programs, including art and music production, photography, mobile app development, and more. By providing the tools and guidance necessary for creative expression and skill-building, Oak Studio empowers the next generation to thrive in today’s digital world.

Since its opening in December 2023, the Oak Studio Teen Tech Center has quickly become a beacon of innovation and support for the youth in Central Iowa, continuing Oakridge Neighborhood’s mission of creating pathways to success. The center is part of a larger initiative that traces its roots back to MIT’s Media Lab and The Clubhouse Network, which collectively reach over 25,000 youth annually across the globe.
